Previous work has included the Northwest contract for the Northern Way Enterprise in Education Project (NEEP) which was designed to establish Enterprise Education at KS3 in 100 schools across the Northwest. By employing our skills at developing effective networks, we reached a total of some 140 schools across the region through work with individual schools and as those who are part of consortia. This project exceeded all expectations and has developed some excellent, sustainable work at KS3, enhanced KS4 provision and has seen some groundbreaking work done in transition projects with primary schools. Consortia have involved local FE Colleges and a real sense of an enterprising culture is being developed across the education spectrum.
In July 2007 EASNW became managing agents for the Pan Merseyside Enterprise Project. Promoted by the Mersey Partnership, based on ideas from the Merseyside Entrepreneurship Commission and funded by the European Social Fund, this project was designed to support all educational sectors in their work of developing the key concept of Enterprise learning for all pupils and students in Merseyside. In this project we were supported by all of the Business and Enterprise Colleges on Merseyside and worked closely with them on hub development and CPD as well as supporting the rollout of the Enterprise Awards being run across the area by Young Enterprise. Other partners in this work were Connexions and work was being done to integrate local HE education students in school enterprise work.
We have developed an excellent Enterprise Resource Centre and we also have a number of our own resources which are free to download on this website as well as some of the interesting case studies from our KS3 work (look out for some great videos here as well).
Working with and developing local networks is a large part of our work, as we see the sharing of ideas and cross fertilization of skills as a vital part of Enterprise development. We deliver and facilitate training through these networks as well as delivering CPD to individual schools either as whole school Inset sessions or to smaller cross curricular groups.
